Heather landed in Austin, Minn. for her first full-time reporting job for the (then) six-days-a-week Austin Post-Bulletin. Coverage included the education and city beats, general assignment reporting, breaking news and some photography. As a small office staff in Austin, Heather and her co-workers also pitched in with customer service.
