Heather is the Written Rule of Sports. She is an award-winning sports journalist, writer and author who is located in Minnesota's Twin Cities. She's covered a variety of sports at the professional, collegiate and high school levels. She's covered games and tournaments, writing profiles and feature stories about athletes and sports personnel.

She's the author of 13 non-fiction children's sports books. Heather earned a journalism degree from the University of St. Thomas and has more than a decade of experience working in the field in various capacities.

From 2015 to 2020 she worked as an in-game social media coordinator for Major League Baseball, providing in-game coverage for the Minnesota Twins social media accounts (mostly Twitter). She stayed in the same role from 2021 to 2023, working directly for the Minnesota Twins organization.

Freelance work

Heather is a writer based in the Twin Cities, and her bylines have appeared in more than 20 print and online outlets. She's covered a variety of sports and events from high school to the pros, including the NHL Winter Classic, World Junior Championship, NCAA Frozen Four, Hockey Day Minnesota and the Minnesota high school boys' state hockey tournament.

Children's books

All 13 of Heather's non-fiction children's books tell various sports stories. The topics range from Wayne Gretzky to the Olympics and auto racing.

Minnesota Twins social media

During the 2015-23 baseball seasons, Heather watched nearly all the Minnesota Twins games from either the Target Field press box or at home, providing in-game updates to the team's Twitter account in her role as in-game social media coordinator.
