About Heather Rule

I'm a writer, journalist and blogger living in the Twin Cities. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of St. Thomas.
I've worked at three newspapers in greater Minnesota, the Austin Post-Bulletin, Fergus Falls Daily Journal and Albert Lea Tribune, covering everything from heated city council meetings to high school basketball games.
I love to watch sports. I've followed the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Wild since middle school. I always like to mention that even though I was around for the Twins' World Series Championships, I don't remember them because I was just a youngster. I'd love to see them get another title. I also really enjoy IndyCar racing, something that's been a family tradition to watch and attend since I was little.
That passion for sports led to my role as sports editor of the college newspaper. I also started a sports blog in 2009 called Thoughts from the Stands. It was a way for me to keep writing and give my own perspective on what was happening with my favorite teams. I still maintain the blog today.
If I can do anything combining writing, sports or social media, then I'm a happy camper. Thanks for taking the time to check out my website!
